The Gauldrons Campbeltown Blended Malt NAS Douglas Laing 75cl 46.2% ABV
Small Batch Bottling No. 02
Time code L 14 01 20
The Gauldrons means "bay of storms"

Color: pale yellow.
Nose: apples, eraser, clove, green bananas, chocolate ice cream, barley, lemons, bay leaf, oranges, vanilla, pears, a bit of smoke, cinnamon, wool. Fruity with a touch of funk.
Taste: pears, sweet cherries, vanilla, apples, lemons, honey, chocolate ice cream, pepper, coffee liqueur, and a hint of salt.
Finish: chocolate ice cream, lemons, pears, honey, strawberries, red currants, herbs, cocoa, pepper, and salt.
Score: 8 ½. Good. +2+1+1.
Conclusion: a nice whisky, especially the aroma. The taste and finish are good but a little weaker and somewhat on the sweeter side. Campbeltown has three distilleries, and there should be at least two of them in the mix. I'd say one is Glen Scotia. 85/100. The most expensive of Douglas Laing's regional blended malts I managed to grab recently, a bottle costs around $60 and is absolutely worth it.
