Don Carlos opened the show with Street Life, a great tune from his Day to Day Living album released in 1982. The old man's vocals have impressively stood the test of time, and his band is everything you'd hope for, tight and featuring horns. The setlist offered a solid selection of songs from Don's vast catalog, including classics like Johnny Big Mouth, Hog and Goat, and Lazer Beam. Naturally, they didn't skip over Guess Who's Coming to Dinner by Black Uhuru, and for the encore, they delivered the legendary Satta Massagana by The Abyssinians. It was a solid and very enjoyable roots reggae show, lasting an hour and a half plus the encore. I'm glad I finally got to see Don, and I wouldn't mind going to his concert again.
