Color: amber.
Nose: slightly burnt oatmeal, seaweed salad, wet newspaper, ash, chestnuts, motor oil, smoke, peat, vanilla and chocolate ice cream, electrical tape, lemons, butter, white button mushrooms, raspberries, apricots, ground pepper, pine resin. Wow, really great!
Taste: smoky and oily, with sweet apples, peat, lemons, pears, oranges, apricots, pepper, chocolate, coffee, oak, and red currants. Easily drinkable despite the cask strength.
Finish: lemons, chocolate, ash, pepper, salt, coffee, chokeberries, blackcurrant jam, and mint.
Score: 9. Between good and excellent. +2+2+2.

Conclusion: one of the best Kilkerran releases in the Heavily Peated series! The aftertaste does feel a bit young, so my final score would be 89/100 — still this is a very impressive malt from Glengyle distillery in Campbeltown, which remains my second favorite Scotch whisky region after Islay.
